Papplewick Village Fayre, loally known as Pappfest, will be taking place so why not pop down and help them raise money for local Charities. There will be live music on the main stage, entertainment in the Arena, a Food Court, a Real Ale Bar and new this year are the Pappfest Tearooms. A Battle of Britain Memorial flight flypast will be taking place and a Market Street has been arranged selling food and crafts, along with a novelty dog show and farm animals. Entry is free and parking will cost £5.

Mansfield Crematorium hold a Bereavement Cafe on the first Monday of each month in the flower hall, the vestibule and the main chapel, as well as the grounds. It is a chance for those who have lost someone to have somewhere to have a chat, a cuppa and a cake. The Echo is an audio magazine of local news and items of interest benefiting blind and partially sighted people in the Mansfield, Ashfield and surrounding areas. Volunteers prepare and record a new edition every three weeks and mail it to visually impaired listeners on compact disc or USB flash drive. Please contact the Echo if you or someone you know is visually impaired and would like to be included on their mailing list. It is free of charge, subject to certain conditions and may also be available to others having disabilities which make reading difficult.
